Mrs M's BIG Christmas 2013 Gift Guide - Gifts for Foodies

Last week I offered up my Christmas Gift Guide for Children. Today I'm sharing some gifts for food lovers. Everything I've featured here is something I'd love to receive myself!  If you want more information about any of the items listed here, please get in touch and I'll try to help!

1. If I didn't already have a cake stand/dome this Anchor Hocking 4-in-1 Cake Dome would probably be right up there at the top of my list. Talk about versatile! My cake dome is one of the most used items in my kitchen but this one? It can be used as a punch bowl, a cake dome, tiered platter/cake stand and for chips'n'dips and comes gift-boxed, so makes a great present. The cake dome has an RRP of £50.00 and is available at Steamer Trading, Amazon and Viners Cookshop.

2. For anyone who likes a cheeky tipple at Christmas (and who doesn't?), the Bloody Pirate set from Demijohn caught my eye as it looked quite different from other drinks I'd seen - a bit different and quirky.  This set of two stacking bottles go together to make their Bloody Pirate Cocktail. It includes Raspberry Vodka and Spiced Rum and is priced at £29.30. Would make a fab gift!

3. Carluccios have got the most amazing sounding range of gifts this year. Perfect presents for those people that are difficult to buy for but perhaps appreciate good food? I know I'd be more than happy to receive some of the goodies they've got on offer this year!  If I were to receive this Il Massimo hamper I'd be a very happy girl indeed. It includes Prosecco, fettuce egg pasta, wild boar ragu, Sicilian extra virgin olive oil, orecchiette durum wheat pasta, tomato chilli and basil sauce, honey cantucci biscuits, gianduiotti box, panettone, chocolate covered coffee beans and milk chocolate golden coins. I don't know anyone who wouldn't appreciate that! The hamper has an RRP of £65.00 and is available in stores and online. Other things worth checking out - the Baci di Dama and the Cioccolatini Alla Ciliegia.

4. I'm a big fan of Monin syrups, ever since I tried their black forest one in a hot chocolate at Costa a couple of years ago so it stands to reason that I'm going to love their Cocktail Set. The set contains five delicious flavours in 50ml bottles - Passion Fruit, Mojito Mint, Grenadine, Coconut and Curacao Blue. The set would make a great stocking filler and I can't help but think that it would also be great as a part of a cocktail-themed hamper for a friend. The Monin Cocktail Set has an RRP of £6.49 and is available to buy at Lakeland where you'll also find the delicious sounding Flavoured Coffee Set too.

5. Slightly more extravagant but perhaps perfect for that special food-lover in your life - how about a cookery course at Padstow Seafood School? There is a great range of courses starting at just £95 for a skill workshop or half day course. Available courses include fish & shellfish, Spanish tapas, vegetarian, bakery and Indian Cookery. Gift cards, which have no expiry date, are available for purchase online. If you're feeling even more generous, their seafood cookery breaks start from £225 and include a one night stay for two and one place on a one-day cookery course.

6. I've been a fan of Hope and Greenwood for quite a while. I can never resist popping in to the shop whenever I'm in Covent Garden.  They have a really lovely Christmas range this year with prices starting from just £4.99. I particularly like the Bah Humbug mug filled with lovely sweets, the Cuddle Up Hot Chocolate Set and how cute is this Jolly Christmas Fudge House which is priced at £7.99?

7. Joseph Joseph products are both stylish and functional and make perfect gifts.  The Slice and Serve Cheese Board is a high quality reversible beech board with a removable condiment dish. The board sits on a food-safe melamine tray base with non-slip safe which is dishwasher safe, as is the bowl. This is just perfect for serving up some lovely cheese, biscuits and chutney or even cakes - pop some whipped cream or jam in that little bowl and you're away! I know I'd be happy to find one of these under the Christmas tree this year! The Slice and Serve Cheese Board is currently available from Find Me A Gift, priced at £24.99.

8.  The Heston Blumenthal Precision Range by Salter is a range of functional products with a cool, stylish design. The Dual Platform Precision Scale (RRP £49.99) is the first of it's kind - offering you an innovative dual platform to weigh ingredients from as small as 0.1g to as large as 10kg - giving unparalleled precision in the kitchen. I also love the Adjustable Measuring Spoons (RRP £17.99) which are a set of two spoons with unique leveller slides along the top to remove an excess, ensuring a level and accurate measure. You can use the spoons to measure both liquid and dry ingredients.  Salter's range of products is available from many department stores and high street retailers across the country. For further information visit the Salter website.

9. How much fun would a Retro Slushie Machine be? LOTS of fun I reckon. This cool drinks maker is reminiscent of 1950's America and you can add water, cordial and ice to serve up a lovely cool beverage. My children would love this but so would I! I love the styling of the product and can totally see myself serving up some nice cool slushie cocktails in the summer. The Retro Slushie Machine is currently available from Find Me A Gift priced at £59.99.

10. Finally, everyone loves a bit of chocolate at Christmas but how about something really special from Godiva Chocolates? Godiva has something for everyone from the gorgeous little Chocolate Gingerman and Reindeer Hollows priced at just £6.00 each to the beautifully presented 34 Piece Gold Decorated Gift Box which is £41.00 and has a delicious assortment of flavours to please all chocolate lovers.   For that someone really special, how about the Swarovski Box. It's £120.00 and is a luxurious red satin box of chocolates, embellished and decorated with 17 Swarovski crystals which contains 61 signature assorted chocolates and truffles. Find out more about the Godiva Chocolates seasonal range by visiting their website.
