Welcome to another Friday Foody Roundup. Time flies doesn't it? Feels like I only did the last one a week or so ago! I've been sent a few products of not recently and thought I'd share these with you here.
Border Biscuits
I've blogged about my love for Border Biscuits before and I recently received a surprise package from them - four packs of their new Real Fruit Shortbread. Border Biscuits are an independent owned family run business based in Lanark and all you need to know is that their biscuits are delicious and come in nots of amazing flavours. I had high hopes for the shortbread seeing as I enjoyed their biscuits so much and I was not disappointed. Currently the new range is available in three flavours - Glace Cherry, Cranberry & Orange and Strawberry. My personal favourite is the Glace Cherry as anything with cherry is irresistible to me. They are available nationwide in Asda stores now.
Duerrs
I was already a fan of Duerrs jam which is why I accepted their offer when they posted a Vine to me on Twitter. Based in Manchester, Duerr's are the oldest family-owned jam maker in England - they've been cooking up their family recipes for 131 years! We're big jam fans in our house, the biggest fan being the smallest person - who seemingly gets through vats of the stuff each month. My personal favourite way to eat jam is when it's surrounded by sponge and pastry. I was sent several jars of Duerrs jam including my favourite - apricot - and I shall be cooking with this over the next month or so, I will of course blog the results. Duerr's do much more than just bog-standard jam so do check out their website to see their full range.
The Nutribox is a healthy snack box full of delicious and nutritious gluten free snacks which you can have delivered free to your work or home address, anywhere in the UK, once a month. All the snacks are suitable for vegetarians and are made with gluten-free ingredients Many of them are also dairy free. There are two different sizes of box, the mini that contains 8-10 snacks and then there is a box that has 16-20. I was sent a Mini to try out.
My box contained the following nine items - Organic Mulu Raw Chocolate, The Ludlow Nut Co Brazil Nut Mix, Tropical Wholefood Apricot Kernels, Nakd Ginger Bread, 9bar, The Raw Chocolate Co Vanoffee bar, Pulsin' Energy Bomb, Ploughshares Organic Fruit and Nut Slice Kiwi and Pineapple.
I'm not going to lie to you, whilst I really liked the concept of The Nutribox it was a little too healthy for me. I'm well-known for liking the good things in life and for me to part with a lump of cash on a regular basis I'd need it to be a little bit more enjoyable. I don't mind a snack of nuts every now and again but generally the products were not things I would purchase myself. In saying that, I'm far from healthy and I'm sure that there are lots of health-conscious people for whom this would be right up their street!
A monthly subscription for The Nutribox starts at £21.00 per month and for the The Nutribox Mini prices starts at £10.95 per month, depending on the subscription term.
Not strictly food but Red Candy recently sent this gorgeous Sagaform heart bowl and ladle to use in recipe posts. As it's been so hot and sticky recently I haven't done a whole lot of blog-worthy cooking recently but keep an eye out on my upcoming recipes and you may see this lovely bowl popping up - I love how the spoon fits perfectly to the bottom of the bowl. The bowl is available from Red Candy, currently on offer priced at £25.00.

And then it all gets a bit alcoholic *hic* with deliveries from Merrydown Cider, Barefoot Wine and a pack that included Appletons Estate Rum, Kings Ginger Liqueur and Bulldog Gin. I'll be covering all of these separately very soon and they'll include food and cocktail recipes!
