Happy Homes & Happy Humidity

Almost every home can benefit from a dehumidifier.

Too much moisture in the air can create the perfect environment for mould to start growing. I don’t know about you, but I certainly don’t want to house share with mould – even if it offered to pay rent! A simple cheap dehumidifier will remove any excessive moisture from the air and help to prevent any mould making a home in your house.

Now we might not be getting to see the sun as much as we might like, but we are definitely feeling the heat and humidity rise.  Fans are great, but sometimes you are just left blowing warm, sticky air around your room. A compact dehumidifier can reduce the humidity in the room, making your summer much more comfortable without having to install something like an air conditioning unit.

Alarm bells might be ringing while you read this. “What about my energy bills?”  Well you might be interested to learn that most dehumidifiers don’t actually cost that much to run. The majority switch off automatically when the water tank is full and remember that you won’t have your humidifier on all the time.

Condensation:  During bath time, when cooking, washing clothes and drying them, we can cause a lot of condensation in the home. This often has nowhere to go so leaves us with a muggy environment and might even start making our wallpaper peel! Having a house dehumidifier will help to stop condensation issues, without us having to run around the house throwing every single window open.

In Britain alone we spend millions on air fresheners, but some of these bad smells in the home have been caused by a damp and humid environment. With a dehumidifier you can take control of the humidity in your home and get rid of some of those unpleasant musty smells without having to buy thousands of air freshening products.

A higher humidity is preferred by some though; ask any clothes moth, flea, woodlouse or dust mite and they will tell you how much they love a humid home. A household dehumidifier will help to keep them out of your home.

Have you ever pulled a cup or plate from your cupboard and found that it smells? This is most likely due to humidity. Using a dehumidifier will help to prevent this, so you won’t have to sniff everything before you hand it over to a guest.

A typical 10 litre dehumidifier will easily service the whole house and can be easily moved to specific rooms if you want to target a problem area.

Make sure you search around for the best dehumidifiers, AppliancesDirect  have a great selection of the top dehumidifiers and offer next day delivery on a lot of their items.
