I'm not really all that big on old St Valentine. Yes, yes, I know, last of the old romantics and all that. I don't mean to be the Grinch That Stole V-Day but I can't help feeling that really it's a holiday for single people. And yet, when I was single? I was a V-day hater because I thought it was a holiday for couples.
There's nothing worse when you're single and don't want to be is there? Valentines Day being smushed in your face at every opportunity. However at least there's hope, a small chance that you might just get a random card from an admiring stranger and that's quite an exciting possibility isn't it?
When you're coupled up, well it goes without saying that you'll get a card (I should hope!) and really, whilst it's nice, it's not particularly exciting. Still, there's lots of lovely cards out there to make it a bit more fun and Etsy is always a great place to start. I thought I'd share a few of my favourites, and yes, I do have a slightly warped, twisted and sometimes even perverse sense of humour but you know, sometimes even I get a little bit warm and squishy inside. Lets talk of it no more.
There you have it, some of the cards I like on Etsy. Not all are of the traditional variety but I like to mix it up a bit!
They are fab! I love a bit of sarcasm!
ReplyDeleteHello, I found you whilst doing a random google search, I adore the Florence White book, so many amazing recipes and so little time. It's great to see someone else baking Coventry Godcakes...I reintroduced them to the city again in 2012 and so far have supplied over 6000 cakes - The Heritage Cake Company specialises in traditional regional and historical recipes such as these. I think that the most important thing is that they are not at all like Eccles cakes, as they have different ingredients, and they're great if you don't like suet, or jar mincemeat, as its all about the yummy fruit mix filling. :-)
