I may have mentioned once or twice in the past that I am a rather big fan of Hotel Chocolat so it will come as no surprise that when I was asked if I would like to review one of their products, I literally jumped at the chance.
Hotel Chocolat have an amazing range of Easter products (all of which I would love to get my filthy mitts on...) and I was sent the rather stonking You Crack Me Up Extra Thick Easter Egg.
My first impression was of the great packaging, it's a real quality product and the packaging lives up to the expectation. The egg itself? Well of course, it is as described, an egg made of extra thick chocolate and it's delicious. One half of the egg is pure 40% milk chocolate (40%) and the other half is mellow milk with a dash of white chocolate. But the best bit? It's filled with all those cute little characters you see above.
I'm a sucker for something cute as you might well now and these had me at "hello". Look at their smiley faces? How could you resist! The flavours include Milk Praline Fried Egg, Chocolate Brownie, Smooth Praline, Orange Praline, Cocoa Pod Bunny, Chirpy Chick, Vanilla Butter Cream, Crunchy Praline and Strawberry Mousse. I'm not normally a strawberry chocolate kind of gal but oh my, the strawberry one was good and it actually tasted like mousse!
I loved this egg and so did Mr M. Well I had to share some of it didn't I? The contents are substantial and I'd like to say that the little happy faces on the pralines makes this a suitable and fun product for children but my advice would be - buy it for the kids and eat it yourself! You won't be disappointed.

The You Crack Me Up Egg from Hotel Chocolate retails at £24.00 and is the perfect gift for the chocolate lover in your life.
Now here's the really good part...
Hotel Chocolat are going to give one of my lovely readers their very own You Crack Me Up Egg! All you need to do to enter is leave a comment below telling me which of the little eggs listed above you think would be your favourite AND send a quick email to athomewithmrsm@btinternet.com so that I am able to contact the winner.
After the giveaway has ended your email address will be deleted and not used for any other purpose. The prize will be sent direct from Hotel Chocolat. This giveaway is one entry per person and open to people in the UK only. Sorry!
The giveaway closes on Friday 11th March 2011 at 3.00pm and the winner will be chosen at random.
Good luck, and in the meantime, do check out the other Easter goodies that Hotel Chocolat stock and if anyone is feeling generous *cough* I really think that in the interests of quality control I need to test some of those quail eggs...
