Product Review: Pinkie Cooper and the Jet Set Pals from Flair

I'll admit when the press release for Pinkie Cooper dropped into my inbox I was a little bit unsure and definitely thought "this isn't for me". A fashion doll that also is a dog. Right. Then I took a second look. I may have been a bit hmm about the idea but I also knew a 7 year old girl whose street this would be right up. And I wasn't wrong.

Pinkie Cooper and the Jet Set Pals is a brand new toy from Flair. Pinkie is a human/English spaniel combo who is an "IT girl" in a high fashion world and as the name would suggest, she likes nothing more than a bit of globetrotting with her friends (Ginger Jones and Pepper Parsons) and their pet pooches - who are equally fabulous.  Pinkie and her friends can swap clothes, accessories and even their hair, as can the pets.

We were sent the Pinkie Cooper & Friends Travel Collection (RRP £24.99) and also one of the Jet Set Pets Collection (RRP £9.99).  As predicted my 7 year old went giddy as soon as she saw the box. In fact she'd already spied the adverts for Pinkie on the TV so she already knew what it was all about and that only added to the excitement.

Pinkie comes in a very attractive looking box and after fighting my way through the packaging and cutting off a thousand little plastic ties, Pinkie and her pooches were finally free.  The Travel Collection dolls include one doll, a pet and some little accessories.  The Jet Set Pet sets feature one pet with a little outfit (of course) and a throne, tiara and a bowl of luxury kibble.

Pinkie Cooper - with special guest star, my daughters arm
My little lady loved it and the only thing my daughter was disappointed with was the fact that the doll and the pet couldn't exchange hair, and actually I agreed with her that would be pretty cool although the "hair" on the pets are actually their ears I think. Still, Pinkie could rock some dog ears as she's, erm, a dog herself!  I'm guessing she's going to want more from the Pinkie Cooper range so she can swap around their hair etc

She played with this doll in much the same way as she does her other dolls of this size - in fact I think Pinkie has already taken up residence in somebody else's dream house...

Pinkie Cooper is a great little quirky doll for an doll-loving animal-friendly little girl!
