Product Review: Blingles Glimmer Glam Styler from Character Options

Before I was sent this Blingles Glimmer Glam Styler set I was acutely away of the Blingles range. This is down to have a daughter who easily succumbs to the powers of advertising on the children's channels on Sky TV!  I knew that it was something she was interested in but I wasn't entirely sure what it was, having managed to ignore all demands quite successfully.

Blingles are a range of craft sets - featuring heavily on the "bling" which definitely appeals to my magpie of a 7 year old daughter.  She also loves anything remotely crafty so she was keen to get to grips with the Glam Styler.  In the box you get the studio (to hold all the bits and bobs) four different glitter colours including rollers, some mini gems, a glimmer pen and a brush for sweeping away excess glitter.

The Glam Styler enables you to make beautiful glittering stickers with pre-made designs. You peel off the top layer sticker, roll on your glitter, add a sparkly gem or two and voila you have a custom-made blingy sticker of your own.

I'll admit, I got a little OCD when we started using the Glam Styler. Glitter is my nemesis and I was a bit nervous that my kitchen was about to get proper blinged up, but fortunately I have a rather sensible little girl and she did well to contain the glitter, so I was able to leave her to her own devices.  The Blingles Glimmer Glam Styler certainly has the potential to get messy so with younger children you may wish to supervise. I did however like the handy tray insert which you can sweep excess glitter into with the little brush provided and the pop it back in the pot - I thought that was a great feature.

It's not a complicated method at all and the instructions were easy to follow so I was comfortable leaving her to get on and be creative. It kept her quiet for quite a while. She enjoyed following the designs but she also discovered you could use the little pen to make glitter dots on her stickers and I thought that gave it an even better creative angle. You don't have to follow the laid out colour pattern, you can just freestyle it if you wish.   

The Blingles Glimmer Glam Styler has a RRP of £19.99 and I think it can provide hours of entertainment for any crafty, bling-loving little girl!
