Shopping for kitchen lovelies

I don't know about you but when looking for kitchen supplies and equipment (something I do A LOT) I've never really thought to look at specialist suppliers like Crosbys who supply catering equipment to the restaurant, bar and catering industry.

A quick poke around the Crosbys website and I had a shopping list as long as my arm.  Crosbys specialise in equipment for food preparation and food presentation and it was the latter that really caught my eye.  I really like the idea of presenting my food a bit more restaurant-like as the children love it when diner is a bit special and this Genware serving cone would be a great way to serve up their chips! I just love the little sauce holder.

Then there are things I would never think about buying like gorgeous boards to put steak on and mussel pots. Okay, so clearly I'm probably never going to rustle up moules marinieries after work but it doesn't stop me wanting one. The steak boards however? They'd get used for sure. Imagine serving up a lovely treat on a Saturday night - juicy fillet steak, medium-cooked with chips (in a serving cone, naturally) and a lovely fresh salad alongside grilled mushrooms and tomatoes. The board would MAKE it.

And then there is the glassware.

Obviously what I need in my life is more, many more, vehicles for drinking colourful cocktails? We'll gloss over the fact that I am running out of cupboard space....

I've found that checking out specialist suppliers can really lead you to some fab finds for the kitchen - if you're like me, things you never even knew you needed (clearly when it comes to kitchen stuff it's a need not a want).

Tell me, do you like to put an effort in with serving up your meals and drinks and do you like to have the right equipment to do it?

  1. Oh now I'm going to be lost for the afternoon! I spend ages looking at presentation and cooking stuff and 99% of my recipes are photographed on white crockery!
