Wowsers.
That's all I'm going to say.
I decided to make Christmas 2011, the year of the cocktail. I found this recipe for Black Forest Martini in Nigella Christmas and loving all things Black Forest, I thought I'd give it a go.
Checking down the ingredients list, I already had all the necessary tipples so I went for it.
Let me just say, Nigella must be a complete LUSH! Wow, this is strong. Clearly if you check the list there are no mixers in this - I need a mixer! No way I can drink pure alcohol (anymore). Whilst quite like the taste and loving the smell, I couldn't finish this drink. I mean if I had, I wouldn't have been having a second, unless I could drink it lying half-comatose flat out on my back on the floor.
Black Forest Martini
Ingredients
ice cubes
1 part vodka
1 part cherry brandy
1/2 part creme de cacao
Method
To make one drink, put at least three ice cubes into a martini glass. Make your drink over the ice using a 25ml measure per part.
Now go forth and try.
If you're brave enough.
love & kisses

I am also a big fan of anything black forest, and this sounds delicious to me. Perhaps you could just lie on the floor and drink through a straw? Lol.
ReplyDeleteI think you would be lying on the floor after one sniff anyway, so it's a good plan!
ReplyDeleteI'm not man enough for brandy AND this looks lovely! Your photo is so festive.
ReplyDeleteThis looks absolutely amazing. Being a complete lush I'm ashamed to say I probably could manage this. But I'd probably need a lie down after more than three... :)

That sounds like quite a drink! I tried the Poinsettia from a Christmas book a couple of years ago and that was really good.
ReplyDeleteOMG sounds so divine and lush...I've come over all giddy!
ReplyDeleteBlimey! Sounds ace!
ReplyDeleteI bet you she thinks the ice the mixer. I would totally drink it all.

ReplyDeleteI can't believe I missed the boat on this one. Only just read the post and presume having a black forest martini in dreary Jan is a bit too glam?
