I don't think it's ever been a secret that I LOVE a roast dinner - I even wrote a post about what makes the best roast dinner earlier last year. So when Knorr asked if they could send me a special roast dinner hamper how could I refuse?!
I'd actually forgotten that this hamper was arriving until there was a knock on the door one Saturday morning - it was a very nice surprise. In the hamper was a whole host of lovelies - potatoes, carrots, broccoli, parsnips, a lovely joint of beef and of course the all-important Gravy Pots, including a lovely white gravy boat to serve the gravy up in!
I need to talk about Knorr's innovative Gravy Pots of course because that was the whole point of the hamper - celebrating the fact that the Knorr Gravy Pots were awarded Product of the Year in the Gravy & Stock category - the world's largest consumer-voted award for product innovation. I imagine Knorr are very happy with that!
The idea behind the Gravy Pots is that they're a timesaver - you can enjoy your roast dinner with rich gravy that tastes like you've made it from scratch. All you have to do is tip a Knorr GravyPot into a saucepan of warm water and bring it to boil. It's that simple.
I was surprised at how tasty the gravy was. I'll put my hands up, I rarely make my own gravy from scratch, it's just one of things I can't be bothered with and this knocked the socks off the usual gravy product I buy. It was really flavoursome and if I hadn't have known, I definitely would have thought this had fresh meat juices added. The best thing about this gravy is it's free from nasties - no artificial preservatives, colours or enhancers and no MSG.
It was a great accompaniment to our Sunday roast and I think I am now a complete convert!
Oh and before I go, I have to share the picture of the beef with you as it was delicious. One of the best joints of beef I've had in ages! (A little on the pink side here for Mr M's liking, I had to whack it back in the oven again for a few mins for him but I like it juicy!)
