When it comes to home appliances we've always had a back-up fridge. I don't mean for emergency fridge break-downs or anything as dramatic as that but more for holding extra drinks in the summer, for stashing the sausages in at our annual Bonfire party and of course for extra capacity when I over-shop at Christmas (it always happens). This hasn't always pleased Mr M as it takes up valuable space in his garage when he could be storing Boy Stuff, but when he can go and grab an ice cold bottle of beer on a hot day, instead of a warm one because all the beer has been removed and replaced with cucumbers, he realises it's worth it.
Our back-up fridge ceased working last year so when Argos asked me if I'd like to review an appliance for them I knew that what I needed was a replacement fridge. Sure it wasn't the most exciting of options but it filled a need and therefore it was the most useful appliance I could have asked for.
Argos had a great range but having had a Hotpoint fridge freezer in the past I knew that was a brand I wanted to stick with. Even though an freezer-box can be handy we decided to go for one without as I've spent too many hours of my life defrosting iced up freezer-boxes even when they do say frost-free - for ease, we decided to go for a basic fridge.
It's perfect. It's compact and fits under the counter in the garage yet has oodles of space inside to store my extras like copious amounts of wine fruit and vegetables. It was delivered quickly, at a time to suit myself - Hotpoint very kindly phoned me direct to arrange delivery and they even offered to take an old appliance away too to save us having to dispose of it ourselves.
The new fridge is proudly occupying a space normally saved for man-tools and is ready and waiting for it's first use at the end of this month - the Bonfire bash. It's location in the garage is super-handy as it means no muddy feet in my kitchen!
