Once again I have decided to join in with Metal Mummy's Movie Meme as I enjoyed writing last weeks blogpost so much. This weeks prompt is The 80s.
Ooh this is a tough one, so many amazing films to choose from. I have swayed from St Elmo's Fire to Mannequin to Beaches. Yes, I am girly girl but I was also only a small child in the 80's so you're lucky I am not choosing the My Little Pony film.
The one I have settled for? The Goonies.
I adored this film. My auntie used to bring it round whenever she babysat and I've already tried to get my children to watch it but at 3 and 5 I think they are still a smidge too young to be interested in it! There's still time, I'll get them loving it too.
When I was younger my friends and I would pretend we were The Goonies and I still quote it to this day. Goonies Never Say Die!
The film was full of adventure, fun and mystery - what more does a child want out of a film? It also had a cracking song by one of my idols, Cyndi Lauper.
I'll leave you with on of the most memorable bits from the film - the famous Truffle Shuffle!
With that, I am off to check out the other entries this week. I'll bet I love them all!
love & kisses
This was another very firm favourite.
ReplyDeleteI love it love it love it.
So much fun and adventure. I'd love to be in a Goonie gang x
AMAZING!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteEverything. OK! I'll talk! In third grade, I cheated on my history exam. In fourth grade, I stole my uncle Max's toupee and I glued it on my face when I was Moses in my Hebrew School play. In fifth grade, I knocked my sister Edie down the stairs and I blamed it on the dog...When my mom sent me to the summer camp for fat kids and then they served lunch I got nuts and I pigged out and they kicked me out...But the worst thing I ever done -- I mixed a pot of fake puke at home and then I went to this movie theater, hid the puke in my jacket, climbed up to the balcony and then, t-t-then, I made a noise like this: hua-hua-hua-huaaaaaaa -- and then I dumped it over the side, all over the people in the audience. And then, this was horrible, all the people started getting sick and throwing up all over each other. I never felt so bad in my entire life.
Love it x
Periodically rewatch this film - it NEVER gets old x
ReplyDeleteOoh The Goonies...perfect choice for this week! x
ReplyDeleteLove this film as well. Makes me laugh every time.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see this until I was well into adulthood and I think that was a crying shame! x
ReplyDeleteGoonies was super! I couldn't stop watching it!
ReplyDeleteLet me remind you another film that I loved at that time,, "Footsteps"
I still remember many scenes!
Hey you Guys!!! xx
ReplyDeleteI've got a feeling this is a movie you needed to have first watched as a kid in the 80s - I remember watching it with my little brothers when I must have been about 17-18 so it's never had the nostalgia value for me that it has for friends of mine who saw it as pre-teenagers. The memory of the truffle shuffle isn't as powerful when you first saw it at a time you thought you were a grown-up ;) I often wish that I could have the shared experience that you have about this movie.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fab film and yes this week was hard as so mqany to choose from. The thing I like is my 10 year old son loves this now also!
ReplyDeleteHey you guuuuuuys! Love this film. I hope you get your little ones to love it too eventually.
