Dress, boots and shoes - OH MY!

Even though, allegedly, next week is going to see the start of an Indian summer, I won't lie to you - my mind is already turning to autumn.  There's something very comforting about autumn. Whilst summer is definitely my favourite season of the year I do love it when the nights start drawing in and I can crack out the winter wardrobe - or even better start shopping for a new one!

In the crisper days of autumn and winter, dresses, chunky knits and leather boots become a bit of a signature style for me.  Hobbs, the British brand that original started out as a shoe label, crafts beautiful collections of affordable luxury for women. Sometimes I feel not quite grown up another for polished tailoring and sophisticated styles however the ranges are modern and have heaps of personality.

The NW3 Birdie Dress in the new Hobbs collection is a great example of this. I adore the combination of a flattering, classic style with a slightly quirky swallow print. Whilst the Blue Invitation Audley Dress has been catching my eye for a while.

A classic colour-way of navy and ivory and an extremely elegant and flattering style.

I don't know about anyone else but I seem to buy new boots every winter. I tend to flavour flat and chunky now for day wear but still like a pair of classic mid-heel boots like the Elizabeth Longboot for days in the office.

It's a timeless style and with leather boots like this, if you look after them, you'll get wear out of them for years to come.

In terms of fashion trends for A/W 2013 I was quite pleased to hear that animal print was still going to be big. I'm a regular Bet Lynch clone these days and go crazy for a bit of leopard print.

The Alana court shoe is right up my street. I'd wear these either in the office or on a night out. I love to wear leopard print shoes with a LBD or even better with a bright red dress. Red + leopard print is one of my favourite combinations.

So I already have three pairs of leopard print shoes, it's not possible to have too many is it?

  1. It seems to be an Indian summer here just now. It was about 28C earlier on, and it was horrid. Really looking forward to a properly crisp autumn, not this muggy nonsense. I really like that Birdie Dress xx
