When I was asked if I'd like to receive a copy of a Nutella cookbook to review, I couldn't really say no. I'm a big fan of that gorgeous brown stuff as is my 7 year old. Generally we just slather it on toast or eat it straight out of the jar with a spoon (don't judge us) so I thought it would be quite interesting to see what else we could do it.
The first thing I liked about the book was that it was shaped like a Nutella jar. Easily pleased? Me? Never! Okay, it doesn't really sit well with all my other cookbooks but for novelty value alone I can let it slide. Plus I think this quirky design makes it a great gift - I could envisage sticking one of these in a little chocolate or baking hamper at Christmas.
As it says, this little book has 30 great recipes in it for Nutella lovers. It's split into sections - Little Nutella Treats, Melt-In-The-Mouth Nutella, Nutella for Sharing and Amazing Nutella. Each recipe is simply laid out with easy-to-follow instructions. There's a recipe per page, accompanied by a full page colour photograph of the end result.
As always, I like to write a list of recipes that I want to try and so far, I have these on the list;
- Banana and Nutella Tartlets
- Nutella Creme Brulee
- Nutella Rice Pudding
- Nutella Mini Swiss Rolls
- Pear and Nutella Crumble
but there are many other gorgeous sweet treats and desserts in the book.
They range from very simple to slightly more complex recipes - there's something for everyone in there! We like the Nutella cookbook and can see ourselves bringing it out when we fancy a delicious chocolatey, nutty (and naughty) treat!
