A few weeks ago I was asked by Slendertone if I wanted to take part in a challenge. I'm a bit late getting this blog post up so I must apologise to them. As I've mentioned on a few blog posts recently, a few members of my household including myself have succumbed to illness and it's fair to say that exercise and fitness has been the very last thing on my mind!
So, lets get down to it. It's safe to say that I have a wobbly tummy. I've had two children and despite having lots of good intentions to get fit and toned it has become apparent that good intentions alone will not make this happen so I jumped at the chance to try out the new Slendertone Abs which is "clinically proven for a firmer and flatter stomach in 4 weeks".
I was quite excited to read that in 4 weeks, users had a 72% in abdominal endurance and a 4% increase in abdominal strength. Apparently 20 minutes is the equivalent of 120 abdominal crunches. I won't lie to you, that frightened me a little bit as that's got to hurt, right? Wrong! I didn't find it painful at all, not during and not after but I did only use it on low intensity so I imagine that it's going to get more intense as I build it up.
You can use the belt during physical activity or without any activity. Naturally to start me off I chose the latter and Call the Midwife. I drew the line at eating a Creme Egg as that just felt too wrong however I fully intend to try using it when I get on my cross-trainer, but hey, lets not run before we can walk.
My first impressions of the Slendertone Abs were good. It was easy to get it set up and going and the instructions were simple to follow. To receive the best results it's recommend you use the Slendertone Abs five times a week. I'm a couple of sessions in and although as I say, I've not ramped it up yet so it's not feeling too intense, I can tell that my muscles have been working.
I know this is where I am meant to give you a before shot of my tummy but I can't do it, I just can't. I mean children or the very weak of heart might read my blog and I just can't be held responsible for what might happen. The stretch marks alone are enough to scare mice away but just for comparison, I currently look NOTHING like this
however, a few weeks with my new best friend and you never know.
I'll be back with another update shortly. Meanwhile, if you've got any questions about the Slendertone Abs, feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer.
Good luck with the challenge!
