Cocktail Love: Disaronno Mule

That's a bad photo right there isn't it? Forgive me. It was Christmas and this was possibly my third or fourth *hic*.

Far more palatable than the Black Forest Martini I made first, the Disaronno Mule is a refreshing delight! Seemingly I had erased all knowledge that ginger ale ever existed from my tiny mind as I don't think I had sampled a glass since circa 1987. What have I been missing out on?!  An impulse purchase of some Canada Dry in Sainsburys led to me discovering what I think may now be my favourite tipple, after a glass of red that is.

This is a seriously good drink, that you need to try. Right now.

Disaronno Mule

Ingredients

1.5 parts Disaronno
4 slices of lime
2 tsp sugar
ginger ale

Method

Muddle the sugar and lime slices together. Add the Disaronno and some cracked ice and stir.  Top up with ginger ale and garnish with a mint sprig.

Note, if you want to go all Tom Cruise and use a cocktail shaker, then by my guest.  You'll want to be using a 25ml measure for this, making the amount of Disaronno in the drink about 40ml, but fill your boots, a little bit more won't hurt.

love & kisses
