"A Fictional Book"
A childhood favourite. The Magic Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton.
A huge Enid Blyton fan (I still am), I read this book over and over again as a child. I loved hearing about Silky and Moonface and of course The Saucepan man who was a trifle deaf. Wouldn't you have loved to visit the land of Do-As-You-Please or Goodies?
I was slightly dismayed to find on buying a new copy that Jo, Bessie, Fanny and Dick are now Joe, Beth, Frannie and Rick. What the hell is all that about?
Everyone should read this, and everyone should read this to their children, but get a vintage copy for authenticity.
