I arrived back home from my holiday to Suffolk (more to come on that in the next few days...) and I was immediately greeted with a very vocal chicken. When I say immediately, I mean immediately. And when I say vocal, I MEAN vocal.
Yes, one of my ladies - I've no idea which - laid me an egg.

It's our very first egg from our new brood so it was super exciting and even more-so that the little darling had waited until I got home to see it. Okay, I doubt she actually waited for me but ssh, that's a technical detail.
I thought it was a pretty good sized offering for the first egg? I have resisted the urge to cook it up and am going to wait until I have enough to make a cake so that we can all share in the eggy goodness!

ReplyDeleteMore proud than a proud mother!
ReplyDeleteIt's so lovely to have your own hens. Good luck with the cake making. Our girls are laying daily now and we just love a plain boiled egg!
