Diet Update: Week Two

Well I survived the first week of the diet with a certain amount of ease actually and I lost 3.5lbs - GET IN!!! Considering that my appetite was taking over my life before the diet I think I did really well. True, my diet mainly consisted of cereal bars and broccoli but it's not been too painful. Hungry at times but on the whole my willpower has been strong, surprising when you realise there has been zero wine consumption this week.

By about three days in I was amazed that my jeans felt better around the waistband. This was obviously not a massive weight loss but clearly the I'd lost the bloat that I'd been carrying around with me. I've always been conscious that after eating a pile of carbs I feel bloaty and uncomfortable and this confirms the point to me. WeightWatchers is relatively low-carb, you can have them obviously but it uses up your points quite quickly. When I am on the diet I prefer to graze my way through the points rather than have a big fill-yer-face session so masses of carbs don't really work for me. I'm loving not feeling so bloated so might have some carb-free days in my week when I have reached my goal weight and am trying to maintain.

The exercise didn't go quite to plan. It started off really well on Saturday with a good Wii Fit session - I love the Wii Fit Plus and the new calorie goal feature, fabulous and a vigourous session on Just Dance (I am SO good at New Kids on the Block). I started Davina on Sunday night. I found it difficult in places but on the whole less painful than I thought it would be. I definitely felt like I had had a workout by the end of it and MAN did I feel it the next day. And the next. And the next. Wednesday I was due to get back on it again but my legs were still a little achy so I passed with a view to doing it on Thursday instead. That never happened either, however I did manage a bit of dancing again. It's Saturday today and again I am meant to be doing Davina (not in the biblical sense) but do you know, I can't really be bothered and instead I am going out to celebrate my little weight loss with a cheeky Diet Coke (I'd go out for dinner but where the heck is WeightWatchers friendly?). I hereby promise, swear and vow solemnly to do a 50 minute Davina workout tomorrow. Honest.

Start Weight: 9st 0.5lb
Current Weight: 8st 11lb
Waist: 30 inches
Hips: 36 inches
Thigh: 20 inches
Upper arm: 11 inches
Number of chins: Still too many to mention

Goat Weight: 7st 12lb

I'm a little alarmed/surprised that my measurements have started to go down so soon however it was time of the month last week so perhaps I had a bit of fluid retention. Who knows.

Will report back next week with hopefully a little less baggage around the middle.
