I'm not so good at keeping New Years resolutions, in fact I hardly ever make them but decided this year I would. I need to get myself motivated and my goals this year are quite simple.
Read two new books a month. It's a simple one but I need to force myself to read sometimes. I love it when I get into it but I often find it hard to open a book and start reading. I'm well on the way with this already. I read Breaking Dawn in two days last week and I have just started on Her Fearful Symmetry which I love already. It helps my motivation if I book draws me in the first two or three chapters and I liked this one from the off. Other books that are on my pile for this year are Black Diamonds, The Mitfords, The Holocaust, The Great Silence, Children of England, On Chesil Beach, The Mill on the Floss, Wolf Hall, Birdsong, The Last Curtsey, The Five People You Meet in Heaven. I'm almost daunted about the task in hand but looking forward to learning some new things.
Start writing again. I love to write, I'd love to write a book and I have started off so many times but I seem to like the drive. I currently have a story in my head which I would like to try and get down on paper. It's quite complicated so I've no idea where to start with it. I'm literally start writing it whatever order it comes out in.
Lose weight. I successfully lost a stone last year. I have successfully put it back on again. through overeating and generally just being a lazy slob. To feel comfortable with myself and rid myself of a muffin top I need to lose about 12lbs. I am going to start Weightwatchers again in a few weeks and get back on the Wii Fit and EA Active (which is complete torture!) and may well splash out on the Wii Fit Plus too as I am a bit bored of Wii Fit.
Start paying off my credit card. Ouch. The wedding dress maxed my card out last year and I've done nothing about paying it off. I feel like it's spiralling now so am going to start paying off as much as I can each month, starting with my Christmas bonus which is going to straight to MBNA. Those damn interest free periods on cards means I just ignore it and never pay it off. And really that's it. I'm not going to make any more resolutions as I'll never keep them but these ones I feel are achievable and need to be done.
Any hints, tips, advice or words of wisdom? Please share!
love & kisses

Bookwise, have you tried the Twilight trilogy .. scarily compelling !
ReplyDeleteYes I have! I have read them all now - have you read the fourth one Breaking Dawn? It was my favourite and I read it over two days, I couldn't put it down!
