What are you reading in August?

The answer to this question should probably be "exactly what I was reading in July", because I've achieved diddly squat in the last month.

I started Bossy Pants and I've packed Chelsea Handler's book into my flight bag but so far that's it. Even though I've had a big fat fail with regards to reading recently I am going to list a few more that are on my pile and that I'd like to get through very soon!

I'm probably being a bit ambitious as I doubt any of them are a particularly light read, but well, we'll see how I get on.

I normally link this post with the "What are you reading in..." on Curtains for the Window but I'm not sure she's done her post yet so I'll link to it later!

Do stop by and let me know what you're reading this month. I love hearing about books that I might not have noticed.

love & kisses

  1. Spooky, I just did my list this evening! I have had the Age of Innocence waiting to be read for a while too. Some of your list are a bit hardwork for holiday reads!

  3. Firstly - Hi there! I am new to reading your blog and therefore new to commenting too.

I have a couple of reads to finish this month. The first is 'Maybe it's Just me!' which is the first book of a fellow blogger (Cranky Old Man). I found him to be incredibly amusing in blog and his book did not let me down either.

The 2nd is 'Better' by Atul Gawande, which is another factual read about what goes on in hospitals.

They both make quite a change for me because I love a good thriller - but perhaps that is why I am aiming to finish them this month, and haven't quite finished them any sooner

  4. I have just finished (like this afternoon) When God Was a Rabbit by Sarah Winman which was really good. I am on the hunt for something new to read

  5. I'm reading World Without End by Ken Follett. It's a huge book and it's taking me ages to get through it. After a slow start it picked up and now I'm tired all the time because I can't put it down at night!
It's the sequel to Pillars of the Earth, which is another huge book and another which I really enjoyed :)

  6. I'm a very sad reader, to say I used to read a book a week is an understatement, I could read one in my day off, but that was before children, so now I'm years behind, and I mean years, in the past few weeks I've finished One Day, my new favourite book, and The Other Family, Joanna Trollope, and both me realise how much I miss reading!
