Ah 10th September already and doesn't it feel autumnal today?
The children are back and school and life is beginning to resemble some normality as we ease back into our routine - only with extra activities added. How I am going to fit everything in and cook too I don't know. What this means is that dinners have to be QUICK. That is going to be the word of the new school year. With working and after school activities, anything that takes a long time to cook is out of the window, although I may start cooking things earlier in the day and then heating them up later. I have a slow cooker but my fire service-employed relatives get all twitchy about it so it's made me nervous!
So the meal plan? Well it takes on a different tack this week as on Thursday I am having a delivery from http://www.gousto.co.uk/ of two complete meals - well all the ingredients, I just have to cook it and as yet, I have no idea what they are! Outside of that though there is a plan! It's not a very exciting one though.
Pizza (told you it wasn't exciting)
Chicken caesar salad
A steak dinner with the full works - it's our anniversary this week

We're also eating out at the weekend. I will of course report back on the Gousto meals!
Hope you're all settling back into Autumn routines. Can't wait to hear what you've got planned this week. The Linky is below, so you can submit your blog posts now. Don't forget to keep spreading the word about #mealplanningmonday and if you get chance, please check out the September recipe link party - would love to get some more submissions.
Slow can be quick. My slow cooker is my salvation for busy weeks. If I am super organised it all gets chopped and put in freezer bags ready to dump in, otherwise I just chuck it in that morning and leave it on low so it's perfect at dinner time.
ReplyDeleteMy husband gets twitchy about the pressure cooker, I would loved to use my slow cooker more but my children say everything I make in it tastes like stew!!! Will pop over to your recipe link up, made a yummy blackberry and apple cake so hopefully cakes allowed :-)
