A while ago I responded to a Tweet about ReadyBeds, as I am a big fan of the product. This led to me being contacted by the PR for ReadyBeds. I was offered the chance to review one of the junior beds having had one of the smaller beds in the past.
For anyone who has not stumbled across a ReadyBed in the past they are a sleep solution, designed for weekends away and sleepovers comprising of an air bed, sleeping bag and pillow - all-in-one! They come in various character designs, all well known and popular and there is a ReadyBed to suit every age - My First Ready Bed, Junior and Tween. You can visit the WorldsApart website to check them out.
A few years ago when we were due to go on holiday abroad I bought one of the beds from the My First Ready Bed range. My daughter was only two at the time so we opted for the smaller size because of the side bolsters - I was a bit worried about her rolling out, having only really slept in a cot until that point. We chose the cheerful In The Night Garden design because at the time she was a big fan and since that point the bed has been known as the "Tombliboo bed". We've used it in hotels, at home when we've needed extra capacity and also when staying over at other peoples houses.
My daughter is now 5 and although she can still fit in the smaller bed - just - we needed something bigger as we plan to use the small one for my 3 year old son. I was given the choice of design and decided to chose the Toy Story one as this is a film that both my children love. Whilst I really wanted to get the Ben 10 one as my son would have POPPED with excitement, I decided it had to be one they would both use and my daughter is not really a Ben 10 fan but in truth it was a tough decision as my children are fans of all the characters featured!
We tested it out at the weekend as my son was desperate to sleep in it and we were just as pleased with this range as we were with the "My First" range. The bed is extremely easy to inflate and deflate - it comes with its own pump and is highly practical having a washable cover and a bag to carry it in. In the past, with the old bed, we found the storage bag incredibly handy as we took the bed on the airplane as our hand luggage and it meant we didn't have to put it in a separate bag.
Most importantly, the bed was comfortable. The children both slept really well on it. I was a little bit worried that they might roll out and of course my daughter - clumsiness personified - did come out of the bed a little bit (not that she knew about it as she didn't wake up!) but she does that in her normal bed and it's not a problem as the ReadyBed isn't that high so they're not going to hurt themselves if they do wobble out. My son didn't move all night - so he remained tucked up nicely and had a very pleasant nights sleep.
Because of the generous size of this child's air bed, I feel we will get a lot of use out of it over the years. The quality is extremely good and because I have used one for a few years already I can vouch for the durability of the beds as well. Three years of use and our old one looks as good as new and has stood up to the test of two rowdy toddlers bouncing all over it!
Now here's the really good bit...I have been offered the chance to give one of these great ReadyBeds away - just in time for the summer (these are perfect for camping!).
